The Battle is The Lord’s

People were afraid of this Philistine Goliath was a giant and very intimidating. He was the guy when you saw him would turn the other way or walk across the street to avoid him. Goliath was a bully and he along with the Philistines hated and despised Israel.

I love the Scripture in Romans: “If God is for us who can be against us”. Yes, we will face enemies and obstacles in life just like Israel today. These obstacles are either magnified to instill great fear in us or they can become a challenge.

Too often, we try to fix the problem or the situation on our own. At times we do not even want to face what is ahead of us. Like David, who was not the king, but a young warrior at the time had to realize, the Battle is the Lord’s!

Notice, David had to gain the small victories to see his faith in action. He defeated the lion, the bear, now he faces Goliath with a tiny slingshot and five smooth stones. He was mocked by the giant and the Philistines, yet David knew where his strength and courage was from. He was not afraid, nor was David a coward. He was up for the challenge? Why? His strength was from the Lord God.” David realized to win the big battle, he had to learn to win the small battles and victories first. When the Lord knows we trust Him in small things, then He will trust us with the greater task at hand.

“Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine. [41] Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer in front of him, kept coming closer to David. [42] He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, glowing with health and handsome, and he despised him. [43] He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. [44] “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!” [45] David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel!
[47] And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord’s battle, and he will give you to us!”
[48] As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. [49] Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. [50] So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him”.

Whatever battle or obstacle you face today, don’t be intimidated or even think about quitting!

God uses the weak and frail things in our lives to conquer the enemy. Allow God to work in and through your life to conquer your worst fear. The power of faith and prayer gives us the assurance that “Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world” 1 John 4:4

When I finally realized that I could not overcome my challenges, obstacles, or problems on my own, I surrendered it to the Lord and let Him fight my battles.
Let the Lord into every need before we face the giants for wisdom and guidance.
You know what God’s response was?
God was waiting for me to surrender and let it go, because He was fighting my battles all the time. It’s time to allow the Lord God to fight for you, because it is a spritual warfare out there.
Remember, “If God is for us, who can be against us” . We have nothing to fear!

Have a great week my friend and dont eat all the kids candy this week!

Greetings! My name is Andy Provitola and I live in New England on the South Shore between Boston and the beautiful Cape Cod region. The purpose of my blogging and writing is to encourage you in your journey here on planet earth. Life is full of pressing issues and problems and my desire is to discover a place for peace, hope, healing, and contentment. I am a follower of Jesus Christ – God’s one and only Son and I discovered these truths along my own personal journey. Having discovered a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ does not mean I have to be religious to attain the rewards of heaven. The fact is God provides grace for us and accepts us as we are in His image. In other words, we cannot attain heaven or life eternal on our own, but by God’s loving grace and no merit of our own. Simply by accepting Him by faith and believing. My goal is to continue to find a balance of life from a spiritual and practical perspective with a purpose to please and glorify God in all that I do because of His ‘Gift of Grace’. God is not transcendent and so far away that he is out of reach with humanity. God desires that His presence lives within us and not just in the galaxies and the universe. Experiencing the unconditional love of God has been so rewarding and while discovering the truth and purpose for my life. Moving forward in this life is not a sprint, but a marathon when it comes to this race here on earth. I am blogging because I find it is a good way to connect in a much more effective and efficient way when it comes to communicating and interacting with people that I know or do not know. Blogging and writing challenges me and also stretches me specifically in my thoughts, my mind, my emotions, and my spiritual life. To live a vertical relation with God and a horizontal relationship with others. There will be a variety of topics and subjects to address including youth, young adults, family, singles, seniors, relationships, etc. Some of the topics will include God’s creation and power, depression, loneliness, suicide, hope, healing, setbacks, financial matters, business, stress, anxiety, care, encouragement, and so much more. I would like to connect with all walks of life, ethnicity, culturally, other religions, socio-economics, and in so many more ways. I am currently writing a book and several memoirs about my own life and journey . The journey begins at a young age growing up in Malden, Massachusetts, specifically Maplewood Square to where I am today. I became paralyzed from the waist down as a senior in high school and I share how my life changed for the better! “But I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may [with joy] finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus. To testify faithfully of the good news of God’s [precious undeserved] grace [which makes us free of guilt of sin and grants us eternal life]. Acts 20:24 Amplified Version
