Have you ever walked by a house when on the sidewalk, suddenly you hear a loud viscious growl of a dog or dogs ready to attack. You see them coming and are paralyzed by fear. Then you notice the high fence so they cannot get out of the yard. You look up at the small sign the reads, “Beware of Dog.” After sweating profusely, and your heart racing, you cross the street and you realize the fear that rose up, out of no where.
Life gives us so many surprises doesn’t it? The unexpected happens and anxiety builds up. We are afraid of what’s next.
You put the news on and are afraid to go out. Random violence and even murder happens too often in our country or towns these days, giving us a reason to live in fear.
I’ve been concerned lately how some people, Christians talk more about fear or the devil Satan, demons, than they do about their Lord Jesus Christ. Some use Christ name in vain or G- damn just as much but thats another topic for another day.
The goal of the devil (who is not in a red suit or pitch fork), is to instill fear in your life. He wants you to be afraid and live in fear. We also have emotions of fear, but can we really trust our emotions?
Whether you believe in the devil or not he is real and has many demons to instill fear, lies, torment, and even bondage/ oppression.
There is no true Christian who can be demon possessed! Those ‘in Christ’ are the temple of the Holy Spirit’.1 Corinthians 6:20.
“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind” 2 Timothy 1:7
“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”.
Hebrews 2:14-15.

The fear of death. Those who live in fear become slaves and live in psychological, emotional, spiritual bondage. Note, the enemy may have power, strongholds, be oppressive, but He does not have authority over your life if you are a believer and follower of Jesus Christ.
Jesus destroyed the power and works of the devil. There are people who have opened themselves up to the occult, witchcraft, psychics, fortune tellers, who can be oppressed/possessed by the devil/demons who are not in Christ.
The Great News is that You can be set free through the power of Christ’s blood shed at the cross!
“I am no no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God!
“For when you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

“Do not fear for I am with you. Do not be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up and help you. I will hold you up with My victorious tight hand” Isaiah 41:10
“…The reason the son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.”
1 John 3″8b
Remember Satan growls, but cannot harm you. if you are a true follower of Christ. He was defeated at the cross. The growl instills fear. “Satan prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom He may devour…”1 Peter 5:8
But..
“Greater is He, Jesus that is in you than He that is in the world. 1 John 4:4
“Put on the whole armor of God.” Ephesians 6:10-18
Allow the Lord to protect and keep His hand on your life. His love casts out all fear. You no longer have to be afraid of the growling or those attack dogs behind the fence you are safe in the arms of the Good Shepherd Jesus Christ. If you don’t have that personal relationship in your heart with Christ. Invite him in to your life today. You won’t be disappointed my friend. Have a great week!
