And When They Prayed

When They Prayed!

There can be a lot of talk and discussion about prayer, but nothing gets accomplished without praying to our All Powerful, All Mighty, Loving Heavenly Father…
The Apostles and disciples new the importance of praying in Jesus name. Notice: And when they had prayed.

And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.” Acts 4:31 NAS

The believers were being persecuted because they were followers of Jesus. Jesus was already resurrected from the grave. Jesus admonished the disciples to tarry, wait in Jerusalem until you are empowered from on high (See Acts 1:4-8).They would receive God’s power and anointing as they were filled with the Spirit.

  1. Jesus reminded the disciples in the Sermon on the Mount ” But when you pray, go into your closet (a private place of prayer with God), shut the door and pray to your Father in secret.

‭Matthew 6:6 NIV‬
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

This is our private prayer time of devotional prayer.
Remember, God rewards what is done in secret or private. Men, people, hypocrites look for the dog and pony show!

2. And When They Prayed.
Acts 4:31 Shows corporate praying together as Believers.

Can I remind you we are not in competition with one another. We are all part of the same body of Christ. We need each other! Yes, there is strength in numbers! ” One will chase a thousand, two will put ten thousand to flight” We do not need to be intimidated or afraid by the enemy. ” if God is for us, who can be against us”

The Church Body needs a revival, A spiritual awakening! Especially in USA and beyond. Politics is not the answer. A move of God’s Holy Spirit is the answer.

  1. When they prayed they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness.”

Yes, as a believer we need God’s anointing not only to preach and teach, but to serve, love, and live out the Christian life as Jesus desires us to live. Not in our strength, but God’s strength and power.

Be filled” means a continuous filling.
‭Ephesians 5:18-20 NLT‬
“Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, BE FILLED with the Holy Spirit,
singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”.

When we stop praying, we stop being filled with God’s Spirit.
The key is when you pray, privately and with others God will begin to fill us once again.

It’s not by might, nor by power. But by My Spirit, says the Lord” Zechariah 4:6

When we pray we must be honest with God and honest with ourselves. Man, people can be fooled, but we cannot fool God! Period.

  1. When we pray we will experience a revival.
    2 Chronicles 7:14-15

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. [15] Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.”

Is this your hearts desire today. For God to work in your life and heart? Let God do a new thing in your heart and life today. Let God pour out to you and Fill You with His Holy Spirit today!
And when they prayed, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…”

Enjoy your day and coming week my friend. If you are on vacation in the next few weeks take some time to pray and let God fill you my friend. Pray for revival for us, our families, our churches, our nation, our world 🌎

Greetings! My name is Andy Provitola and I live in New England on the South Shore between Boston and the beautiful Cape Cod region. The purpose of my blogging and writing is to encourage you in your journey here on planet earth. Life is full of pressing issues and problems and my desire is to discover a place for peace, hope, healing, and contentment. I am a follower of Jesus Christ – God’s one and only Son and I discovered these truths along my own personal journey. Having discovered a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ does not mean I have to be religious to attain the rewards of heaven. The fact is God provides grace for us and accepts us as we are in His image. In other words, we cannot attain heaven or life eternal on our own, but by God’s loving grace and no merit of our own. Simply by accepting Him by faith and believing. My goal is to continue to find a balance of life from a spiritual and practical perspective with a purpose to please and glorify God in all that I do because of His ‘Gift of Grace’. God is not transcendent and so far away that he is out of reach with humanity. God desires that His presence lives within us and not just in the galaxies and the universe. Experiencing the unconditional love of God has been so rewarding and while discovering the truth and purpose for my life. Moving forward in this life is not a sprint, but a marathon when it comes to this race here on earth. I am blogging because I find it is a good way to connect in a much more effective and efficient way when it comes to communicating and interacting with people that I know or do not know. Blogging and writing challenges me and also stretches me specifically in my thoughts, my mind, my emotions, and my spiritual life. To live a vertical relation with God and a horizontal relationship with others. There will be a variety of topics and subjects to address including youth, young adults, family, singles, seniors, relationships, etc. Some of the topics will include God’s creation and power, depression, loneliness, suicide, hope, healing, setbacks, financial matters, business, stress, anxiety, care, encouragement, and so much more. I would like to connect with all walks of life, ethnicity, culturally, other religions, socio-economics, and in so many more ways. I am currently writing a book and several memoirs about my own life and journey . The journey begins at a young age growing up in Malden, Massachusetts, specifically Maplewood Square to where I am today. I became paralyzed from the waist down as a senior in high school and I share how my life changed for the better! “But I do not consider my life as something of value or dear to me, so that I may [with joy] finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus. To testify faithfully of the good news of God’s [precious undeserved] grace [which makes us free of guilt of sin and grants us eternal life]. Acts 20:24 Amplified Version

  1. awesome insight, and devotion, keep me updated. You didn’t think I would check it out this fast?🤔Tell the truth.Ya see Andy I am a really good listener, however I realized after attending the Brownsville Revival 2times that I was so excited to share the experiences, miracles that GOD did using man,and women. It really bothered me because I was a new believer.I am intense in everything I do.I would think crank it up a little if you want to know GOD,JESUS,HOLY ,the Holy Trinity.God the Father,Jesus the son,the HolySpirit, all are one.I came to a very clear answer to why just a few people were interested in the miracles, signs, and wonders God was doing. The answer was quick, easy, they had a very poor prayer life if any. They being in the Frozen Chosen land were very comfortable being uncomfortable.I am well aware it is an oxymoron. Also ya those things happen in Africa and 3rd world nations, but not here.He is the same GOD.Ya see those people are hungry, literally for food, water medicine, etc.Andy is correct, get serious about your Knee mail.Pray without ceising 1Thes.5:16-18.That means yes you can pray while cooking, cleaning etc. That is not a substitute for your prayer closet,or prayer meetings. We more than welcome those also, but again not a substitute to 1 on 1 dialogue with God.Blessed2bless bob 👍🏻🙏🏽🩸🔥🇺🇸Bellmer
